New workstation brings micro volume samples to ICP-MS

June 1, 2015

Teledyne CETAC Technologies introduced the MVX-7100 μL Workstation, a sample introduction system for ICP-MS which supports sample volumes as low as 5 microliters. The workstation brings together an autosampler, syringe pumps, temperature control, a six-port valve, and automation software to help laboratories efficiently perform trace element analysis on their smallest, most precious samples.

Teledyne CETAC Technologies has introduced the MVX-7100 μL Workstation, a flexible sample introduction system for ICP-MS which enables the introduction of sample volumes as low as 5 microliters. The workstation is designed to help laboratories efficiently perform trace element analysis on their smallest, most precious samples.

The workstation brings together an autosampler, syringe pumps, temperature control, a six-port valve, and automation software. Syringe driven rinse allows for stable low flow applications with low detection limits. The flow injection system allows for better washout and sensitivity by eliminating pump tubing and minimizing sample contact. Dual rinse stations are standard to reduce any carryover for difficult elements or matrices. The workstation uses non-metallic materials for all wetted parts to ensure low detection limits.

Samples can be drawn from conventional vials, septum vials, or microtiter plates up to 384 wells. The septum piercing Z-drive prevents volatile elements from escaping, opening new opportunities for the ICP-MS industry.

The workstation features a modular design that allows for optimal placement of components for either right or left handed ICP-MS systems. The modular design allows laboratories to expand the system with additional modules as needed, including additional syringe modules and a temperature controlled rack. To learn more, click here.
